“Natura Mirabilis“ in the Sölktäler Nature Park
description
Medieval Schloss Großsölk, with its mighty defensive walls, was the home of nobility until the time it was taken over by the Jesuits.Nowadays this historic treasure of Sölktäler Nature Park is used as a museum. In six exhibition rooms at the castle, we present the permanent “Natura Mirabilis” exhibition.
Utilizing modern optics, virtual notebooks and interactive stations, you will see a world as it was 200 years ago, a time when Johann von Hohensee still lived here and conducted his research. You will hike along ancient trade routes, see the eventful history of the castle, be amazed by threatened animal species, experience an avalanche and hear the gentle babbling of moorlands and alpine tarns.
